Citizen science is the involvement of the public in scientific research.
Citizen Science projects are breaking boundaries through the sheer volume of participants and data. CS also has the benefit of involving communities and thus creating awareness that single scientists have hard time to reach. By involving the public into scientific research the results of that research have a bigger support and therefor have more power to create meaningful change.
